Jean Vanier

Jean Vanier was in town this weekend, speaking on campus to students and the community at large about his books, his work with L'arche, and how to interact with people to serve their needs, as a Christian. What stood out most prominently from the talk was the term Vanier used, "communion of hearts"- where we bring ourselves down to the level of the people we are trying to reach, try to understand their situation, share with them our lives and to look at everyone as being precious in God's sight. We are also ordinary people who have the potential to live extraordinary lives for God! There's a lot more that Vanier spoke about that was deep, profound, and also just good reminders of how to be a godly Christian. You'll have to ask me in person. :) Coffee, anyone?
